Virtual Programs at Jeffco Public Library Keep Your Family Connected

Jefferson County Public Library (JCPL) supports our community with free, high-quality, virtual programs on a variety of topics for children, teens, and adults! 

From story time for little kids to career and technology workshops for teens and adults — everyone in the family will find some fun in JCPL’s virtual programs! 

JCPL’s 10 locations are offering curbside and walk-in services (though all classes are still online). We are taking precautions to keep everyone safe.

Programs for Children – Ages 0-12

Baby/Toddler/Preschool/Story Time (Available in Spanish and English): Your child can join in the fun while developing his or her growing mind through singing, dancing, and rhyming. 

Kids Martial Arts: A fun and interactive way to get your child moving! No experience is necessary for this beginner Martial Arts class. All are welcome to join. 

Pet Show and Tell: Does your child love animals? Each week children learn about new animals and get to show off their furry friends to the group!

Friday Crafternoons: Children find their inner crafters each week while creating a DIY craft project at home. A new theme each week helps expand crafting knowledge and skills. 

Young Readers Book Club: A virtual book club helps children share favorite books related to a weekly theme and create something fun, too after each discussion. 

Programs for Teens – Ages 12-18

Mid-Morning Meditation: Does your teen need a way to reduce stress? The Jefferson Center for Mental Health offers a call-in meditation that encourages teens to quiet their minds and approach the day from a peaceful place.

Scholastic GO!: Explore videos on many school core curricula subjects, search world news and navigate an interactive atlas! 

Virtual Dungeons & Dragons for Beginners: Those who love epic fantasy adventures are invited to roll the dice with like-minded adventurers!

Library Summer Challenge (in Spanish and English): This challenge includes various activities, including a teen writing contest, to keep teen minds and bodies engaged all summer long! 

Programs for Adults 

Active Minds: Stay connected with others and keep your mind busy with this unique program that features a new topic each week related to current events, history, or the natural world.

Accelerate Your Career: A series of workshops led by the Jefferson County Business & Workforce Center help take your career to the next level. Topics range from preparing for interviews, using LinkedIn for business, and crafting a resume to prepare for success. 

Hard Times Writing Workshop: Find a weekly writing workshop offering a supportive and safe community for you to tell your story and process challenging personal experiences.

Technology Classes (Available in Spanish and English): Boost your skills in Google Docs, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, email, and more with these technology classes.  

Qs and Brews Trivia: Join a fun group for a Zoom version of your favorite bar trivia. Drinks are optional but be prepared to be intellectually challenged!

Mental Fitness Fridays: Focus on your mental health every Friday morning with this session led by Jefferson Center for Mental Health. Covering topics from mindfulness to active listening, this program provides strategies and tips to help you through difficult times. 

Stay Connected

While the community is slowly opening up, JCPL programs provide a great way to be social while staying safe.

It is so important to maintain social circles and maintain contact with our community as we navigate this pandemic. There are so many opportunities to connect with your community through the Library’s free virtual programming we hope you’ll dive right in!

COVID-19 Information

Jefferson County Public Library is taking the following COVID-19 precautions at each of its 10 locations to ensure Library guests are safe and comfortable: 

  • Physical distancing
  • Advanced cleaning protocols
  • Limited capacity for walk-in services


All Library locations are open for curbside services and many sites offer walk-in services. There is a one-hour time limit for all walk-in services to accommodate as many people as possible. Masks are required for all visitors 11 years old and older.
